Melissa Wagner is the newest Aquaculture and Fisheries Management Instructor at the College of Southern Idaho. Before taking this position, she has worked a multitude of positions since graduating with her bachelors from the University of Dubuque. These jobs included trapping/relocating prairie dogs, observing for NOAA, chasing birds off a military base in England, tracking bighorn sheep using telemetry, and surveying migratory landbirds through Utah. Eventually, she found her way to a salmon hatchery in Alaska, and hasn't left aquaculture since. A position with IDFG brought her to Idaho in 2020, and the rest is history. Currently, she serves not only as the program director but the ONLY program instructor, the hatchery manager, the vice president of the Idaho Aquaculture Association, and a a co-chair of the Idaho Chapter of the American Fisheries Society Aquaculture Committee.

In September, October and November this fall we will have our monthly General Meeting on the Third Tuesday each month starting with September 17.  These meetings will again feature fly fishing speakers & presentations, local conservation & fisheries work updates, club activities,  project updates and more.  We know that we all really enjoy and learn from new speakers and experienced club members bringing new as well as time proven fly fishing tricks of their trade for us all to benefit from and pass on to our kids and grandkids. We are working diligently to this goal and if you know of someone we should contact please pass their information along so we can.

Our work on this September 17 third Tuesday is coming together today and further details will be updated here, in our Club News as well as in send outs and posters around town as soon as it's solid.

This meeting each month adds to our ability to work with you all to make MVFF what you want your club to be.  All club activities and our ongoing commitments to you and our 52 years of fulfilling our bylaws are not free of cost in person hours or dollars; more so now than in any time in recent memory.  That is why we need you all and thank you for being a member and supporting your club and our goals as fly fishers furthering our perpetuation of this old but current pastime.

Please attend these and bring your relatives, friends & neighbors to increase our membership and again get our numbers growing back to pre-pandemic levels of participation and enthusiasm!!

This will appear in Club News and elsewhere and see you all at the meetings.
