A Fun Fly Fishing Evening of Casting, Tying, Leaders & More. We will be there by 5:00 +/_ and ending around 8:00 or so.
We have over as dozen experienced members coming to show and help new and seasoned fly fishers share fishing secrets, learn more and practice the tricks or our trade. Time proven basics of casting and tying tools and their uses are enhanced by all the new S-glass rods and amazing fly lines in casting as well as the art of material handling of both traditional and new materials and tools for fly tying. Leader materials, their evolution and uses are another example of our evolving sport. Hands-on, close-up & personal is the best way to get into the feel of fly fishing fun. We all learn new things from each other and we all especially want to share those with new folks ( kids & parents, to great grand parents) to help and encourage everyone to get out and enjoy fly fishing. There's a lot you can learn on the internet, but you can't cast a fly you've tied nor land a fine fish on your cell phone!! Bring your kids, grand kids, family, friends and neighbors to wade in a little deeper for real fun in and out of the river, stream, lake, pond, ocean, inlet, bay, harbor, or other waters of you choice!!!
April has traditionally been this Cast into Spring MVFF club meeting. Fly casting will be on the lawn outside the Barn and fly tying, leader use and design will be inside. We will have our club rods for you to cast & you can bring your own outfits to practice with and have us help you with as you wish. We will have several tiers tying and answering question as well as have sign ups for additional both casting and tying outside of meeting times. Open tying nights (-come and tie one-on?) have been fun nights in the past that we'd like to see more of in the future if enough are interested--same with casting practice in the long spring and summer evenings at a park near you!
We are happy (and lucky) that this coming Tuesday's forecast shows it will be, 79, sunny, with a few clouds & wind 5-10---WOW it's Spring! Bring your kids, grand kids, family, friends and neighbors and if you run across some of our members we haven't seen and in a while; bring 'em back to the Barn, we miss, them!!
Food will be available at a Barn's Burger Buffet and the Bar will be open for drinks as well. Please continue to register for this MVFF admission free event so the kitchen has a best guess on numbers eating for stocking the buffet, always for a nominal fee.
Call me anytime with your ideas, possible speakers for our meetings and all the things you want to see your club do in 2026.
Thanks Bryan, 208-934-6405 & call-leave message (or you're SPAM) or text & I'll call you back.
