HOT NEW INFO-MAY AND BEYOND
Dennis Brauer and his son Tucker will be presenting a show on their adventure last fall catching BIG redfish in Louisiana. (We saw pics and they're amazing!) They will also give us updates on their more recent trips to Yellowstone and this week to Bruno Dunes chasing big bluegill and bass. This is another show not to miss!!
This last 3rd Tuesday General Meeting for this spring, will also feature awarding our scholarship certificate to a deserving student in Melissa Wagner's Aquaculture and Fisheries program at CSI that she has so successfully built over the last few years. We are excited to again be able to help CSI develop new professionals so needed to protect, restore, preserve and perpetuate quality fish populations everywhere.
Mark Sindell, our member and key player in the City's Rock Creek Restoration Project, will give us an update on current progress and how, when, and where we can submit more of our priorities, concerns and desires to their team and work with them to be sure our goals are factored into the process. Our club work on Rock Creek over many, many, years & with several different community connections, gives our club a unique history and perspective that we want to be sure is heard. This important new phase in the restoration and rehabilitation of our city stream can become the reality of a city and community recreational asset if we all work together to make it happen. Send us your perspectives and ideas to include. If we get back to doing creek cleanup work or other boots-in-the-mud activities with the project or City Parks & Rec, they will be posted as outlined below.
Friday June 5, MVFF will be at the Twin Falls Fair Grounds in Filer for their annual foundation trout fish fry fundraiser and a joint MVFF membership drive event for us. Please see details in that Event posting that follows this one. Mark your calendars to come and help your club, eat some great fish, and have a fly fishing fun Friday evening showing our community our skills and affection for family fly fishing! This is our only June event.
June, July & August we will not have regular meetings at the Barn. Anything that arises of interest to all will be posted here as an Event or in our News section, so watch both and watch your emails too.
The Clear Lake Country Club Lake is an example of what to watch for in the near future. We are restarting our work with them on their trophy fishing pond and earning our free fishing days to be defined soon after the next cleanup is done. Next week we will be meeting with them for more final planning. This will be getting us down there cleaning up the u-boat & pontoon launch area, shore fishing access trails, and getting us fishing there again soon! Watch Events and News sections.
September 15 will be our Fall start up meeting at the Barn. Updates on the Big Wood River Working Group's findings will be presented as well as other fun fly fishing frivolities!! Watch that Event posting for further details as they materialize.
May is still really busy with the kids fishing days at the end or their Trout in the Classroom trout rearing and releasing.
Please see the dates listed in the Events header above.
Please see the added posting above on the June and July IDFG Take Me Fishing Days that we help with also .
Hope to see you all at all the good stuff above.
