Our long time member Dale Quigley is excited to come & give us a presentation after just returning from an extended trip to Alaska.
His program is “The Art & Science of Swinging Flies & Catching Alaskan Sockeye Salmon (Reds)" and includes classic Spey presentation tackle props and examples to see, feel & study.” This will be fun & informative with many concepts that cross over to trout Spey and other line handling/water resistance skills useful for all .
This is a show you surely do not want to miss!!! Dale’s show starts at 7:00.
This October 20 meeting will bring us into our next new "back to the future" phase and get us enjoying the fall fly fishing fun that the cooler weather is sure to bring. We may? have casting on the lawn as the wind permits with tying demonstrations in the Barn before we start at 5 with a lot to cover.

We also need everyone to fill out a new info sheet as you come in so we can have everyone's interests to plan with & info with mailing and street address to mail your membership cards to when you join or renew and to plot our members on our new club map to show us all how close together we all are here in the Magic Valley.
You can then look over raffle items and buy tickets to win them as well as buy a chance at the 50/50 raffle where the winner gets 1/2 the pot and MVFF gets the other 1/2! There may be a silent auction item or two for your bidding pleasure!
At 5:00 sharp we begin with Guests, New & Returning Member introductions & quick bio's & fly fishing tales from all while our tiers are showing their craft and talk us through a few of their favorite flies.
New groups that are forming will then give where they're headed and how, and ask for your comments and help as time allows.
Leading off will be our Fishmaster Fred telling you about next Sat. Oct 24's fishout, 9 am to too-tired catching -'em. He has organized this to get us all out fishing together again at Dierkes Lake, as close as you can get to Twin!!! It got a truck load recently of scrappy little rainbows like this one caught yesterday 10/17 on a gold bead head hare's ear #16, and has bass & blue gill too.
Fred found out too, that NO MOTORS, EVEN ELECTRIC, ARE ALLOWED ANY MORE! So, please, bring your U-boats, pontoons, kayaks, & canoes with fins, paddles & oars for best fishing with little shore access and no wading with the cattails as they are. Please launch, park, & retrieve to allow easy access for all to the old launch ramp that is the only put in/take out usable now. Watch out for the sharp drop off at the end of the old ramp! There are some openings along the rocky coves where this fish found the fly, to the left of the ramp & out to the rock back wall. Come on out & have fly flinging fun for all.

6:15 is our dinner break featuring Nina's Fantastic Fajita Buffet & goodies.
At 7:00, as we are finishing dinner, Dale begins his show to 7:30 as outlined above followed by Q & A and then we have our raffle drawings with more quality time together before we close at 8:00 to 8:30.
Please note that we are accepting paid member volunteers for our board up to our Nov. 3 Board meeting with the election at the Tue Nov 17 General Meeting.
