Magic Valley Fly Fishers Thursday April 7, 2022. Update

MVFF Hot Topics for our April 30, 2022, 50th Anniversary Event

April 7, 2022

Good afternoon Magic Valley Fly Fishers,

Tickets

This Saturday 4/9/2022 we will be selling tickets at Sportsman’s starting at 10 a.m. and need help at the table. Call Fred or me or just come on by, say hi and buy your dinner tickets. The prime rib dinner with all the sides and dessert will be memorable as all are at the Barn. The website pay-online is good and the Reservation Flier is there to view and download with info.

Dinner Presentations

Will Godfrey’s presentation on his fly fishing adventures and our origins, in concert with the presentation of our video history project presented by Russ Tremayne, will provide an evening no one interested in Idaho fly fishing will want to miss.

Media

Our team is getting the word out with postings in the community events sections in local media including the Canyon Community Connector magazine in our boxes yesterday and others before. Watch, look and listen and tell everyone to come on over to have a great day and dinner.

Day Events are free for everyone wanting to get more into fly fishing fun.

Our day events include fly casting & fly tying demonstrations as well as having new folks try their hand at these too. Our experienced members will give hands on help with these skills. We may also have some of our most seasoned folks coaching in the required art of telling tall tales; fly fishing tales of course!!
Everyone will also enjoy the other kindred outdoor recreation, wildlife and fisheries groups that will be there to give us all better understanding of Southern Idaho and all it has to offer for fly fishing and other associated pursuits out and about to help us enjoy the better months ahead.

Fundraising

We need every donation you all can find for our raffles and silent auction. They are starting to come in, but it’s really slim pickin’s so far. If you have worked with donors for us at prior banquets and still have those contacts, or new ones, it would be a great help if you could do that again. If you haven’t, try it, you’ll like it! All types of donations work. If you find donation items you can give, our member items always draw great responses like at Christmas parties where you folks gave to the cause, and everyone loved what they won.

This year it is even easier than in past years. We have volunteers in Hagerman receiving donations for that end of our world, and in Jerome covering Gooding, Wendel, Jerome and Burley for your convenience. I will cover the greater Twin Falls area -“with a little help from my friends”!! Please call or text me at 208-934-6405 to schedule a drop off or a pickup of items as needed. You will then receive new Donor Receipts to track/acknowledge donors directly and get them our tax number that you can also find on the donor request letters I’ve sent previously.

See you this Saturday at Sportsman’s and on Sat. April 30th for a great day and dinner.

Thank you, more soon and call me anytime with questions or ideas.
