Hi again all. I apologize for my long delay in posting all we are doing. This will take several installments over the next days and here goes.
Please watch our Events section as I just posted Dennis Brauer's adventures program for our April 8 general meeting evening you will all want to see and we will post more soon.
Please also check your records and pay your 2025 dues even if you hadn't paid for last year (or beyond) as we are fine tuning our membership tracking and show almost 50% of you are behind. That really cuts into our meager cash flow and thereby limits many of our hoped for activities. You will soon get more send-outs via the website if you are paid up and will be dropped too if you delay too long now that more of our system is moving to fuller automation. You can still mail a check or pay with check or cash at the meetings, but on-line is fastest and populates your profile best. Also please always now put in your street address and mailing address if different as we want to do more mailings to you of your new membership cards and know where all our members are for regional activities going forward.
One in-process project you won't get if you snooze is the new detailed survey Ian made that will get your desires known if you take it if you get it if you get it; get it???? snicker-snicker
Trout in the Classroom Project.
IDFG has again asked MVFF to help with the Trout in the Classroom fishing days for the kids at the end of their projects this spring. All will be 8:00 am. to 2:00 pm. at Riley Pond at the Hagerman hatchery except for the last three to be held at the Hayspur hatchery off Hwy 20 by Silver Creek.
IDFG brings all the gear, worms and their folks to help teach fishing and fish handling skills, the kids are bussed in and out, and we assist with teaching, baiting hooks and untangling lines. Fred is even proficient in netting cell phones off the bottom of the pond at dock!! The kids’ teachers and parents are a great help too with lots of kids coming to learn and have fun.
Please call Chris Foster, our IDFG liaison and fabulous fish filleting & cooking teacher at 206-794-4802, or me at 208-934-6405 with any questions.
Days are as follows.
April 29, Tue.
May 6 Tue, 7 Wed, 8 Thurs, 12 Mon, 14 Wed, 15 Thurs, 19 Mon, 20 Tue, 28 Wed,
29 Thurs, at Hayspur Hatchery.
June 3 Tue, 4 Wed, at Hayspur Hatchery.
Thank you in advance for your help with these kids, some of whom may have never been fishing before, ever! It’s really great to see them catch their first fish. Bryan.
Please watch too for IDFG’s free fishing days that will be posted here later in the spring and summer with details to help get everyone out fishing and that we also help with.
That's all for now and as I always close, more soon and call me anytime.
Bryan
